What made Speaking Out 2025 Special?

The convention is for people with aphasia. The audience helped choose the topics. Families and professionals joined, but the focus stayed on lived experience.

(This is really valuable. I admit it it’s hard for me to understand, and remember aphasia and brain science. I try to get it, then I forget it. At this conference, people will talk about aphasia and how it affected them, both positive and negative.)

Join from anywhere.

What You’ll Experience

This year’s conference will focus on three themes:

Connection:  Learn what people have done to deal with aphasia. Learn how they’ve built support and strength.

Care Partners:  family members, friends, and other supporters—including mental health, respite, and peer support.

Resources. Explore local and national programs, online communities, and tools to keep moving forward—long after therapy ends.

There will be an added PPA Track for information on Primary Progressive Aphasia.

Many sessions will feature real storieslive panelscreative expression, and more.
